What you do:

The Senior Data Engineer is part of the wider Data Analytics function building and enhancing our home-grown enterprise data platform and working across a variety of data assets comprised of data lake, data marts and custom-built integrations. The role will be responsible for building data pipelines on Cloud Infrastructure to enable data provisioning for analytics solutions. Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, data analytics assets and other techniques that service business units with their data requirements.

The Data Analytics team at iSelect has just moved full on to a consolidated Cloud data platform on AWS and the Senior Data Engineer is responsible to facilitate build, availability and quality of data assets including identification, curation and presentation of data in required formats for business consumption.

What you need:

  • Commercial experience working as a Data Engineer within a large, complex, data focused environment
  • Familiar with Data Warehouse/Data Lake/Data Hub design and development
  • Experience with CI/CD platforms and pipeline deployment patterns (Jenkins, Ansible, AWS Cloud Formation) and infrastructure as a code development
  • Experience in ETL, dimensional modelling, data warehouse design and reporting solution builds
  • Solid experience in Python and SQL
  • Experience mentoring and guiding a team of data engineers
  • Ability to understand business needs and interpret business rules into technical solutions
  • Strong communication skills and stakeholder relationships
