The Opportunity
If you are tired of FIFO, job instability, cramped workshops, or public-facing jobs – this Diesel Mechanic role is all about servicing and maintaining our dedicated internal fleet in a modern, ventilated, well equipped, Brisbane based workshop with a supportive and professional team.

A Typical Day
You’ll work on a variety of light and heavy vehicles and equipment, including but not limited to utilities, cable pullers, boom lifts, crane borers, and prime movers. Your responsibilities will include servicing, repairing, and maintaining these assets, as well as conducting quarterly and annual inspections. The work is performed at our spacious premises, located within the J&P Richardson Industries headquarters in Wacol and no FIFO work is required so you will be home every afternoon.
About You
You’re someone who takes pride in your work and enjoys being part of a team that values quality and safety. We’re ideally looking for a Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic but would be open to experienced Light Vehicle Diesel Mechanics looking to expand your skills and progress your career.
- You’re Qualified: You have a Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology or Mechanical Trade (Diesel Fitter/Mechanic), or equivalent; Construction Induction Safety Certificate (white card); and a solid track record of working on heavy diesel vehicles. An Approved Examiner’s Certificate would be a strong advantage.
- You’re Experienced: You confidently know your way around engines, brakes, hydraulics and transmissions and you have a HR (preferred) or MR licence.
