Primary Function of Position:

This role will design, conduct, and deliver studies via scientific approaches to support product pre-launch, launch and post-launch for Intuitive’s technologies with a focus on health equity, social and structural determinants of health and humanistic value. This researcher will collaborate with teams across multiple business units and other GAVE (Global Access, Value and Evidence) centers of excellence to conduct research and manage collaboration with co-authors to produce scientifically rigorous evidence in support of the Quintuple Aim.


Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute large-scale database projects in alignment with objectives outlined by the Health Policy & Patient Access Research COE
  • Develop evidence generation strategies and execute studies from inception to completion, statistical analysis plan (SAP), study reports, abstracts, and manuscripts.
  • Manage and develop project deliverables, including models, reports, abstracts, manuscripts, and slide decks, as appropriate. Effectively disseminate the project results to the cross functional teams and generate meaningful research impact.
  • Review, assess and interpret relevant literature & statistical analyses in surgery and therapeutic areas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Validating the findings using an experimental and iterative approach and effectively present to cross functional partners and teams, including but not limit to market access, hospital channel marketing, clinical affairs, biostatistics, market research, marketing, and publication team
  • Execute and manage research projects with external collaborators/vendors to ensure timely completion and quality of deliverables as well as budget/legal compliance.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively in a highly matrixed team environment.


Skills, Experience, Education, & Training:

  • Minimum 2 years’ hand-on experience of designing and executing observational studies
  • Record of publications in health economics, health services research, patient access research or public health
  • Strong methodological skills (study design, data analysis and interpretation) in health services research
  • Expertise in statistics (particularly causal inference and Bayesian inference), or data science, including addressing challenges from incomplete, unrepresentative, and mislabeled data
  • Strong statistical programming skills using R/python, and/or SQL
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to distill complex information into concise and impactful messages and presentations.

Required Education and Training

  • PhD degree in health economics, public health, health policy and management, health services research, epidemiology, statistics, or related field with 2+ years of HEOR experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ hand-on experience of designing and executing observational studies
