The Opportunity

As the Sustainability and Environment Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our sustainability strategy and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) plans. You will collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement a robust sustainability framework, leading the development and execution of our sustainability strategy to achieve our environmental and sustainability goals.

Using your expertise, you will be proactive in developing environmental strategies, objectives, and targets aimed at minimising our environmental impact. Your collaborative style will see you working closely with SSQ and construction delivery teams to ensure customer requirements are met and to identify and pursue opportunities for sustainability improvements in customer projects.

Reporting to Executive Manager - SSQ, the position is further supported by our talented team of people including the broader SSQ team and Construction Delivery teams. This role is based out of our Brisbane (Richlands) office.

You will bring:

  • 8+ years experience in environmental management in a construction or heavy industry environment
  • Proven experience in developing and actioning sustainability strategies across large organisations
  • Experience in developing and implementing environmental management systems to the ISO14001 standard
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership teams to establish sustainability frameworks, goals and targets
  • Working knowledge of statutory environmental monitoring and management guidelines
  • GRI reporting knowledge and skills
