The opportunity

Working closely with the hospitality team, you will work within a supportive team environment but still have autonomy in your day to be responsible for delivering resident-centric care in a timely and compassionate manner which enables residents to make the best choices for them to live a happy, heathy and safe life in our homes.

This role is perfect for individuals studying cookery courses who want hands-on experience in a supportive and rewarding setting.

 Role responsibilities

  • As an integral part of our aged care facility, the Kitchen assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the well-being of our residents by preparing and delivering nutritious meals in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Prepare daily meals and beverages that meet individual needs of each resident including special dietary requirements, as instructed by the Head Chef. Crafting well-balanced and nutritious meals is at the heart of what we do for our residents.
  • Excellent safety awareness, adhering to strict hygiene and sanitation protocols in food preparation and serving areas to meet regulatory standards.
  • Bring your genuine care and compassion to meal times, making each dining experience unforgettable and enjoyable for our elderly residents.
  • We thrive on teamwork, and your positivity and willingness to lend a hand are invaluable. Whether it's arriving on time, staying informed, or supporting your colleagues, your teamwork ensures our kitchen runs smoothly.

 Qualifications

  • Eligible to work in Australia and living in the local community.
  • Prior experience in preparing and delivering meals in a commercial environment.
  • Must have the industry compliance of NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or ability to apply for one (this is at your own cost and can take up to a week only to obtain but is a 5-year valid card).
