The Role

We are currently seeking to appoint an experienced Key Account Manager based at our Concrete plant in Alexandria. Reporting to the Sales Manager you will have the vital function of managing key accounts while maximising sales opportunities within the greater Sydney market. This will be achieved through the development of strong customer relationships, with both existing and new customers, and by offering practical solutions that ensure high customer satisfaction.

This role will require you to be hands on and to deal with all levels and sectors throughout the construction industry. Although you will manage an existing customer base, one of the responsibilities of this role will be to generate new business and identify market opportunities.

The role is for you if you're highly motivated, results-oriented and have strong business acumen. Ideally you will have experience in a similar role and can demonstrate a track record of success in key account management delivering on major projects within the infrastructure, commercial, industrial and residential sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with your customer base, meeting with customers regularly and becoming a trusted advisor to their business.
  • Assess the NSW Sydney market and develop and execute strategies to optimise opportunities.
  • Analyse sales and profitability within new and existing markets and market segments
  • Analyse sales data of existing customer base and deliver margin growth strategies.
  • Ensure all tender submissions and quotes for projects are supplied on time and in line with approved processes.
  • Successfully negotiate all elements of the customer relationship, ensuring consistency in all dealings
  • Meet set sales targets and KPI's and provide regular updates to the Sales Manager

What you will need to succeed

  • Demonstrated success in a key account management role (3-5 years preferred), ideally within the construction materials industry.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams as well as being a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously.
  • A strong focus on customer satisfaction
  • Tertiary qualifications in commerce, business, marketing or similar discipline (preferred)
  • Intermediate computer literacy using Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint (essential) and experience with SAP, Power BI, Sales Force (preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to prepare and present clear and concise reports.
