We are transforming the data landscape with the implementation of a new modern data platform. The Data and Analytics functions is as one of our most critical in relation to the strategic side of the business, supporting business growth, great customer experiences, and outstanding operational results. We see Data Governance as an enabler that unlocks the power of data across the business.

What Does An Average Day Look Like?

No day is average at humm but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role:

  • Lead, develop and implement a comprehensive data governance framework tailored to the Data as a Product model, ensuring consistency, transparency, and accountability across all data products
  • Lead the establishment, identification and appointment of data stewards within product teams, providing them with the guidance and tools needed to manage data assets effectively.
  • Work collaboratively with the Platform, Data Platform, and BI teams to identify and prioritize critical data elements (CDEs) and Key Data Elements crucial for business success, establish comprehensive data lineage from source systems to end processes. 
  • Drive the design of scalable and adaptable data architecture and data models, effectively addressing future data growth and evolving business needs. 
  • Identify and mitigate data-related risks, including data breaches, non-compliance, and poor data quality, by establishing robust controls and monitoring mechanisms.
  • Cultivate robust relationships with stakeholders across the enterprise, ensuring their involvement and commitment to data governance initiatives including the establishment of Data Governance Steering Committee

An experienced and strategic Data Management leader to establish and oversee data governance within an innovative Data as a Product (DaaP) model. Driven to constantly learn, develop new skills, and share these capabilities – importantly you have a growth mindset. 

We’re also looking for someone who brings:

  • 7+ years of experience in data management, data governance, or a similar role, with a strong focus on data quality, compliance, and security.
  • Proven experience in implementing data governance frameworks within a Data as a Product model or similar environments
  • Strong understanding of data management principles, including data lifecycle management, metadata management, and data stewardship
  • Have comfort working in a fast paced and dynamic work environment, are highly consultative, confident to voice your opinion and pride yourself on being a good listener.
  • Possess strong attention to detail, reconciliation, and engineering mindsets. Highly organised and reliable with the ability to think of the bigger picture.
  • Good time management with the ability to multitask, prioritise and deliver to schedule. Work well under pressure and use judgement in problem solving.
  • A degree in Information Management, Data Science, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
