What's so exciting about this role? 

Sitting within the Digital and Transformation Business Unit, this role plays a key role in shaping the success of the entire humm business across Australia, New Zealand, Canada and as required our Ireland and UK divisions. You will confidently within an agile environment partnering with business stakeholders and product managers to prepare the delivery roadmap, prioritise initiatives for the squad to deliver with a focus on delivering maximum business value, managing new initiatives and ensuring they align and compliment humm’s strategic direction and value proposition in market. 

What Does An Average Day Look Like? 

No day is average at humm but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role: 

  • Squad Leadership: Be a dynamic and driven Product Owner who will manage their product squads through Agile by building high-performing cross functional teams 
  • Solution Discovery: Work with tech leads and product manager/s to define and refine the solutions for each initiative and lead workshops  
  • Product planning & strategy: Partner and collaborate with stakeholders across various teams in exploring and refining roadmap initiatives, working to execute the product roadmap  
  • Product delivery: Work closely with your counterparts within the squad to ensure acceptance criteria and expected outcomes are met, ensuring stakeholders are deeply engaged and informed on delivery and release updates. 
  • Facilitate work breakdown: including but not limited to story mapping and customer journey development. 
  • Backlog grooming & prioritisation: Maintain a brilliant backlog, ensuring priorities can deliver on the product roadmap and are balanced with optimisation initiatives. Manage cross-squad dependencies and implement the most efficient sequencing for development. 
  • Product maintenance: Conduct analysis of incidents and problem solve  
  • Leadership: Act as a multiplier for your squad and stakeholders, by embodying humm group’s values to bind the many functions that interact with to run a smooth development and delivery process including coaching and mentoring of the squad 
  • Effectively prioritise the day to day delivery of the product roadmap by balancing customers’ demands, operational efficiencies and business returns

You will be someone who: 

  • Experience in credit risk, fraud or collections systems 
  • Ideally 3+ years’ experience as a Product Owner delivering in Agile / Scrum 
  • Some exposure to SAFE 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Track record in driving results and delivering against your roadmap 
  • Strong influencer with exceptional stakeholder management
