humm Ireland is the Irish subsidiary which is responsible for the proposition delivery to the Irish market.

What's so exciting about this role

The Credit Risk Officer is responsible for assessing credit risk, manual decision-making including customer interactions, portfolio credit risk analysis and minimising bad and doubtful debts through quality credit risk decisions (automated and manual). 

The role operates with a high degree of autonomy and independence, including an individual lending authority, and is expected to deliver against key performance indicators, striking the right balance between credit risk and new business acquisition. 

The role is for 15hrs per week covering both Saturday and Sunday.  

What Does an Average Day Look Like? 

No day is average at humm but here’s an idea of what you can expect to do in this role: 

  • Analysis of loan applications to independently determine the financial condition of applicants and make informed decisions on approval or decline of credit limit. 
  • Verification and validation of supplied documentation and details to reach a suitable credit decision. 
  • Review and discuss account strategies and make informed observations to reduce or mitigate against credit and fraud risk exposure; Identify potential fraud or problem applications and escalate any recurring issues in a timely manner. 
  • Cooperate with other teams and functions to achieve desired outcomes.  
  • Adhere to credit policy and procedures.
  • Perform any ad-hoc requests as deemed appropriate.
  • Actively participate in individual performance reviews in line with the company requirements and manage adherence to schedule.
  • Represent, embed and support hummgroup’s values and standards within the team.

  • Proficient in Excel and Word 
  • Previous lending or financial services experience desirable.
