Hospitality Training Network (HTN) is seeking an eager and dedicated Apprentice Pastry Chef to join the team with Al Aseel.

 Al Aseel offering has become synonymous with delicious Lebanese cuisine in Australia’s food circuit. Traditional family-style feasting is what we are passionate about. From our hub in Greenacre, and purely due to popular demand and word of mouth, we now have seven Al Aseel restaurants Sydney-wide. In conjunction with this, a catering kitchen in Greenacre with an incredible offering for corporate and private events. Our recipes have been passed down through generations, and our chefs have curated a menu using locally sourced produce and quality ingredients. What’s involved:

As an Apprentice Pastry Chef, you will learn alongside qualified Pastry Chefs in all aspects of food preparation and presentation. Working with us allows you to learn and build experiences from skilled professionals within a commercial kitchen environment. You will be working at one of our great host venues, working with large quantities of food and a variety of ingredients. Key activities you can expect will be:

  • Assist in the preparation, production & presentation of a range of baked goods including speciality pastries and desserts
  • Learn chocolate and sugar decorations
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers & ovens under supervision
  • Learn different cooking skills & how to use kitchen equipment including spatulas, mixing spoons, zesters, pastry knives, icing bags, pastry cutters & sifters
  • Clean, maintain & store kitchen equipment appropriately
  • Stock control and organising the kitchen (some heavy lifting involved)

To suit this role, you will be an eager and motivated individual with a passion for food looking to kick-start your culinary career! You will have good communication skills, seek out opportunities to learn and show initiative in your everyday duties.

In order to be eligible for an apprenticeship in NSW you must be either an:

  • Australian Citizenship
  • Australian Permanent Residency
  • New Zealand Passport Holder residing in Australia for more than six months.
