The Advice Support Manager (ASM) will lead, manage, coach, mentor, and motivate the Advice Support Officers (ASOs) in the execution of their roles and duties. This involves providing high-quality administrative support to the Hostplus Financial Planning and Advice team to assist the team in meeting its service excellence objectives and targets. The ASM will also play an active role in the day-to-day management of the advice administration tasks with a focus on timeliness, quality assurance, efficiency, and achieving high standards of service. Additionally, the ASM will work closely with other internal departments and functions to identify and champion continuous process improvements, reduce risks, and develop operational strategies to achieve superior member experiences and outcomes.
The opportunity
As an Advice Support Manager at Hostplus, you will lead and mentor the Advice Support Team, ensuring the efficient delivery of financial advice services to our members. You will work collaboratively with the Financial Planning and Advice teams to assess and triage members' advice needs, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant implementation of all client advice. Your role will involve overseeing the pre-advice process, scheduling appointments, and maintaining client records, while also briefing members on the advice process, fees, and related information.
In addition to member interaction, you will play a crucial role in process improvement by identifying and introducing enhancements to client and administration processes. You will ensure fair and balanced work allocation across the team, manage ad hoc projects to enhance business processes, and provide regular and ad-hoc reporting to the Head of Advice. Your responsibilities will also include completing supervision and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to legislative requirements and best practice customer service standards.
Your leadership will be key in fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment. You will assist Superannuation Advisers and Financial Planners in providing timely, high-quality, compliant advice to members, and support the implementation of advice provided. Additionally, you will maintain high-level, timely, and accurate record-keeping in Xplan and CRM systems, and ensure high standards of customer service and quality assurance. Your contribution to company-wide projects and initiatives will help drive Hostplus forward, ensuring superior member experiences and outcomes.
About you
- 3-5 years' experience in superannuation or similar financial services, with at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Proven experience in administrative support within a financial planning practice, authorized to provide general advice.
- Success in managing, leading, and motivating a team to achieve key performance areas.
- Ability to drive and manage change within the team.
- Strong customer service skills and experience working in a team environment.
- Knowledge of superannuation legislation and industry reforms.
- Experience with financial planning software (XPLAN preferred) and corporate financial services.
- Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and work autonomously.
- Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- RG146 qualification and Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) required; Advanced Diploma desired.
