Are you a strategic thinker with a passion for risk management and compliance? Hostplus is seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Manager - Enterprise Risk to lead our efforts in implementing and managing our risk and compliance frameworks across the organisation.
The opportunity
As the Senior Manager - Enterprise Risk, you will partner with non-investment and finance-related business units to implement the Hostplus Risk Management Framework (RMF). You will support the design and implementation of controls, contribute to the development of a detailed second-line assurance plan, and lead the ongoing implementation of the Hostplus Risk Culture Roadmap. Your role will involve building and maintaining transparent stakeholder relationships, including regulators, and upskilling the first line of defence to manage their risks and controls effectively.
You will oversee the continued enhancement of the Risk GRC system (Archer), contribute to the annual Risk Management Declaration process, and support business projects by providing risk-based guidance. Additionally, you will monitor the external environment to get early sight of emerging risks and provide detailed guidance on controls required to mitigate against them. and prepare reports for the Board and Risk and Compliance Committee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enable the effective implementation of the Hostplus RMF across all business areas to support rigorous risk identification and management.
- Support the design and implementation of controls with first-line process owners.
- Contribute to the development of a detailed second-line assurance plan in collaboration with business units.
- Support the ongoing implementation of the Hostplus Risk Culture Roadmap to mature risk culture and awareness.
- Lead, develop, and engage the risk team, ensuring engagement, development, and performance plans are actioned.
- Maintain transparent and professional relationships with key stakeholders, including regulators, to enable two-way communication and continuous improvement.
- Upskill the first line of defence to manage their risks and controls and promote a desirable risk culture.
- R Oversee the uplift of the Risk GRC system (Archer), improving functionality and reporting capability to drive data insights.
- Contribute to the annual Risk Management Declaration process.
- Provide risk expertise and advice to strategic projects and initiatives, ensuring risk-based considerations are integrated into decision-making.
About you
- 5+ years in risk management with strong operational risk management knowledge and experience.
- Experience in dealing with regulatory bodies (ASIC, APRA).
- Effective understanding of CPS/SPS 220 and its commercial application.
- Demonstrated practical experience in the implementation, ongoing monitoring, and reporting of risk programs.
- Ability to liaise with and manage external vendors.
- Tertiary qualification in an appropriate discipline.
