The Opportunity

Hitachi is actively seeking a motivated individual to join the team in the position of Workshop HD Fitter at our Forrestdale Branch. This opportunity will see you working within the Modularisation/Retail teams to meet high customer requirements and provide a high quality of workmanship across a broad range of works in a timely manner.

This role is offered on a 7/7 dayshift only, Perth based roster.

You will also be responsible for:

  • Ensuring all work carried out is performed in a safe and timely manner
  • Completing Strip downs and Rebuilds for modules across our mining excavator and rigid dump truck fleet.
  • Ensuring a high level of organisation is maintained throughout the process
  • Work effectively with all team members and other departments
  • Completion and submission of inspections including all relevant paperwork and reports
  • Maintain a clean and tidy working environment in line with the company’s 5S standards

To be successful in this role:

  • You will have relevant Mobile Plant (or similar) trade qualifications
  • Have previous experience with the assembly, overhaul, repair and servicing of mechanical and hydraulic components on construction and/or mining equipment.
  • Heavy Rigid drivers licence and High Risk Work licences (forklift, dogging, working at heights, etc) would be highly regarded
  • A safety focus with a good understanding of Workplace Health and Safety principles
  • Good communication skills and a dedication to providing quality work for an OEM
