 About the Role:

As a Leading Hand, Working at our brand new Gunnedah facility working on a 7/7 day and night shifts you will work closely with the Workshop Supervisor to lead and guide employees in performing their tasks safely and efficiently. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with the company's Environmental Policy, Quality Assurance System, and Workplace Health & Safety requirements.
  • Motivate and lead the team to maximize labour output while meeting standard repair times.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in adherence to quality procedures, minimizing rework.
  • Set up job tasks, issue appropriate documentation, and work instructions to the workshop floor.
  • Assist in dealing with sub-contractors to ensure the best turnaround times and quality of work.
  • Assist technicians in documenting and using SWP & JHA's.
  • Administer job cards and timesheets, ensuring they are up to date and completed daily.
  • Adapt procedures for testing and diagnosing equipment faults when manufacturer guidelines are insufficient.

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Ensure the HCA Safety Culture is embraced, displayed and driven from within - safety takes priority over everything else
  • Previous experience leading a team to achieve and exceed set goals
  • Hold relevant Australian (or Australian recognised) diesel or mobile plant trade qualifications
  • Have good communication and customer service skills with the ability to build long term relationships
  • Have the ability to navigate complex technical issues to deliver high quality outcomes in repair and maintenance services with minimal to zero rework
