 The Opportunity

Hitachi is seeking a motivated, structured and influential leader for an exciting opportunity to join the team in the position of Parts and Service Manager - Townsville. In this role, you will plan, lead & manage all aspects of the parts and service operations across an expansive territory in North Queensland to provide high-level customer service, whilst working closely with your teams to achieve department safety, quality, production and financial KPI targets. 

Reporting to the Townsville Branch Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain compliance with WHS, Environmental and QA policies.
  • Promote an inclusive and collaborative safety culture aligned to HCA safety beliefs and behaviours, with a strong focus on achieving an interdependent safety culture.
  • Manage department profit and loss including achieving revenue, expense and gross profit targets.
  • Monitor department utilisation and efficiency performance and manage processes and controls to achieve production targets.
  • Oversee accuracy and timeliness of customer quote submission, follow up and invoicing.
  • Staff recruitment, career development and performance evaluation.
  • Customer relationship management.

To be successful in the role, you will also have:

  • Demonstrated safety focus with a strong understanding of WHS principles.
  • The ability to engage with and positively enable a team of dedicated and talented staff to achieve business objectives.
  • A developed understanding of and experience managing operational after sales parts & service support functions.
  • Well-developed negotiation and dispute resolution skills, with the ability to navigate complex issues.
  • Developed organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and effectively manage multiple work fronts.
  • Ability to understand technical information and interpret technical data.
  • In-depth understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling methodology.
  • Advanced Written and Verbal Communication Skills
  • Intermediate computer skills (MS Office suite).
