The Opportunity

We are currently seeking an experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Service team as the Resident Field Service Fitter based in the Gippsland Region in Victoria. Reporting to the Field Service Supervisor, you will be responsible for providing diagnostic, repair and maintenance services to our customer’s equipment.

This is a position in which you can work autonomously and make it your own with the full support of our Melbourne branch and our wider company branch network.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing onsite technical support on Hitachi equipment including diagnostics, repair and maintenance
  • Building and maintaining excellent rapport with our customer base in the region
  • Completion and submission of all relevant paperwork
  • Conducting your work in compliance with all quality and safety standards and procedures

To be successful in the role, you will possess:

  • Minimum Certificate III in a Mobile Plant Technology or equivalent discipline (Diesel Mechanic).
  • Proven track-record as a heavy diesel mechanic with earthmoving/heavy machinery experience
  • OEM equipment experience highly regarded
  • Current driver’s license
  • Ability to work autonomously in the region and proactively solve technical issues
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and customer service etiquette
  • An uncompromising commitment to quality workmanship and safety policies and procedures
