The Opportunity

Hitachi Construction Machinery Australia (HCA) is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our Mining Product Support – Truck team. This role focuses on providing expert support across all facets of fleet performance, working closely with the product OEM, regional branches, and customers. You will play a key role in identifying emerging product issues, leading technical investigations, and driving strategic improvements that enhance reliability and reduce equipment downtime for our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse fleet performance to identify reliability trends and emerging equipment issues
• Lead investigations into high-risk or fleet-wide product issues, escalating to the OEM where necessary
• Support internal teams with resolving equipment issues and investigating component failures using root cause analysis and other analytical tools
• Drive product improvement initiatives through national collaboration with Service, Parts, Reman, and Sales teams

To Succeed, You Will Need

• Tertiary Electrical Engineering Qualification
• 3+ years’ industry experience working with mobile machinery or heavy equipment
• Proficiency in data analysis and problem solving
• Experience with High Voltage Electrical systems is highly Regarded
• Industry experience in construction, mining, or earthmoving is advantageous
• Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills
