The role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Lawyer / Senior Associate to join our Funds team located in Sydney on a full time basis.

Working closely with Erik Setio, this is a fantastic opportunity for a 5+ PQE Senior Lawyer/Senior Associate. The role is open to those who are keen to undertake funds structuring and advisory work, and keen to join a collaborative, supportive and high-performing team. You will advise on complex regulatory issues affecting the funds and financial services industry. You will also be involved in the development of innovative solutions and complex transactions as well as funds licensing, disclosure, marketing outsourcing, arrangements and distribution issues.

Key responsibilities

The role will see you working with a variety of funds and financial services institutions and advisory firms, including both domestic and foreign industry participants, on a broad range of matters in both a regulatory and transactional context.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

·      At least 5 years' post qualification experience.

·      Ideally a background in financial services regulatory, investment product and/or fund related matters.

·      A proactive approach to your work with a strong client service focus.

·      Strong client management and negotiations skills.

·      Effective written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate with impact to both internal and external clients and staff.

·      A team player with strong time and project management skills.

In addition to this, we're looking for a resilient, self-starter. Someone who is able to work effectively in a team and is focused on attention to detail and providing an outstanding service to our clients.

This role will take on a senior role within the structure of the Funds and Financial Practice Group and be one of the go to person working closely with Erik Setio (in the Funds team specifically) and provide guidance and mentoring for his junior team members.
