We are looking for a Lawyer / Senior Lawyer to join our rapidly growing New Energy team in Brisbane.

The Hamilton Locke New Energy team brings unparalleled Australian renewable energy market experience, expertise and knowledge. With a genuine passion for the work we do, together we ensure our people have every opportunity to upskill and deepen their expertise in the dynamic world of New Energy.

This role will see you working on transformative New Energy projects that are shaping the future of the sector. You will be drafting and negotiating complex legal documents, providing strategic counsel to top-tier clients and contributing to innovative New Energy initiatives across Australia and beyond.

You will collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary team, leveraging your expertise to guide clients throughout the energy and infrastructure asset lifecycle, from investment structuring to asset delivery. In addition to your legal work, you will have the opportunity to contribute to thought leadership, engage in industry discussions and publish articles that reflect the pioneering work of our New Energy team.

Who should apply

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a Lawyer / Senior Lawyer with at least 2 years’ experience in Projects, Construction, Corporate and/or Commercial;
  • has a genuine interest in the New Energy sector and is eager to leverage their legal expertise to work on New Energy projects;
  • is proactive and eager to deepen their understanding of regulatory frameworks related to the energy transition and sustainability, with a strong willingness to engage with and master these areas (if not already experienced);
  • wants to join a supportive, high performing team;
  • values teamwork, takes initiative and is proactive with strong problem-solving, attention to detail and communication skills; and
  • is a curious, life-long learner who is open to change, to trying new things and wants to develop, not just as a professional, but also as a person.
