The Principal Administrative Specialist under limited supervision, works within the Corporate HR department and the Employee Relations team providing administrative support to the teams.

  • Pay Rate: $27.00 - $31.00/hour
  • Assignment Length: 3 months with the high possibility of extension based on performance and other factors.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate within a specialized function, with work verified on an irregular basis as issues arise, allowing for considerable autonomy in project completion for the immediate supervisor.
  • Prepare complex reports and maintain intricate records, requiring careful selection, classification, or compilation of information from multiple sources.
  • Utilize initiative and judgment to arrange job details and achieve predetermined objectives.
  • Coordinate or direct the work activities of various lower-level specialists as needed.
  • Provide accurate and prompt responses to a wide range of Human Resources customer inquiries.
  • Utilize knowledge of HR programs, documented procedures, policy manuals, HR databases, and other resources to resolve inquiries in person, via telephone, voicemail, or email.
  • Interpret, apply, and communicate conceptual elements of Human Resources policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensure organizational goals are met by interpreting and applying HR processes, replicating successful practices, proactively developing internal relationships, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Escalate issues requiring specific, in-depth knowledge to the appropriate HR Business Partner or HR Manager.
  • Follow up on outstanding issues to ensure resolution, keep the customer informed on the status, and close out inquiries when complete.

Qualifications:

  • Requires 8 + years of administrative support.
  • Completion of an undergraduate degree in Human Resources or a similar business field preferred.
  • Prefers at least one years of experience that includes a combination of customer service and functional experience within Human Resources.
  • Proficient in administrative skills, familiar with standard office software suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams, with experience in an administrative capacity supporting a team.
  • Strong customer service skills, ability to prioritize tasks, and work independently.
  • Experience working within an HR department is preferred.
  • Active listener with strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Trusted with a high degree of confidential information.
  • Strong work ethic and high integrity.
