ABOUT THE PROJECT

We are thrilled to be partnering with the brilliant teams at City West Housing Pty Ltd and Turner Studio to bring Boronia Apartments Waterloo to life. Boronia is being jointly funded by City West Housing Pty Ltd, the City of Sydney, NSW Department of Communities and Justice and NHFIC, and will provide 74 affordable apartments, catering to individuals with low to moderate incomes, notably women and their children seeking refuge from domestic and family violence.

With the need for well-designed, high-quality affordable infrastructure at an all-time high we are proud to be making a difference in the lives of those in need of safe and affordable dwellings alongside partners who value empowering their residents. The $55m community critical project includes 5 levels of 72 affordable housing dwellings, 26 at grade car parking spaces and a commercial tenancy.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to our Site Manager, you will be confident in leading work independently but are a team player who can leave your ego behind. You will be surrounded by a team of 7+ high performing people, but in particular will work closely with our Project Engineer and Site Engineer.

In your first month you will be supported by the Site Manager and Senior Project Manager as the team works through structure. The team have just poured level 3/5 slab and have commenced level 4/5 formwork.

Here’s what your day to day might look like:

• Co-ordinating and implementing all day-to-day activities
• Driving the construction program to achieve progress and project delivery schedules
• Managing subcontractors, direct labour and suppliers on-site
• Making decisions and solving problems that arise on site
• Managing and coordinating materials, plant and equipment
• Conducting Site Inductions for staff and Subcontractors
• Conducting Toolbox Talks

ABOUT YOU

You will be right for this role if you have:

• Experience on Residential or Social Affordable Housing, ideally in Tier 2 or Tier 3
• About 3-5 years of experience as a Foreman
• Willingness to take on a challenge and the ability to think outside of the box
• Ability to take the lead and work independently whilst also being part of a larger team
• Trade or tertiary qualifications in building, construction or similar
• Strong understanding of WHS and Environmental legislation and requirements, and proven experience of effectively controlling site safety and environmental compliance.
