About the Role
As an Assistant Development Manager at Growthbuilt, you will play an integral role in supporting the development lifecycle of projects. This includes assisting with acquisitions, planning approvals, designs to tender, feasibilities, and the management of projects to completion. You'll work across residential and mixed-use projects.
This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to all stages and work streams of development management, including planning, funding, sales and marketing, construction and more. You will assist in preparing investment committee papers and monthly reports, managing cashflow and consultant engagement. Additionally, you will provide valuable support throughout the planning and approval process and help drive Growthbuilt’s pipeline of projects across New South Wales.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and issue request for fee proposal, assess and prepare recommendations.
- Assist in managing Development Applications (DA) and design development, ensuring compliance and timely approvals.
- Update feasibilities and cashflows for active projects (Estate Master), covering both internal and external requirements.
- Provide support in various aspects of project management, including meeting minutes, consultant engagement, design meetings, planning meetings, and project control group (PCG) meetings.
- Manage invoice approvals, cost reporting and budget control.
- Support in acquisitions of new sites, primarily in the residential and mixed-use apartment sectors, with scope for co-living, retail, and commercial opportunities.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with Growthbuilt’s Quality, Safety, and Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
About You:
- Minimum of 2 years’ post-graduate experience in development management with residential experience.
- Proficient in Excel and experienced in financial modelling (DCF and Estate Master), with a good understanding of development feasibilities, project finances, and feasibility reporting.
- Exposure to the full lifecycle of development projects, from acquisition through to delivery, with an understanding of planning, valuations, and development applications (DA) processes.
- Tertiary qualification in Property, Development Management, or a related field. Practical, hands-on experience is highly valued alongside formal qualifications.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders, providing clear, concise updates and managing key relationships.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to think creatively and address challenges in development, finance, and project execution.
- Ability to work independently, manage smaller projects and assist with larger developments while being flexible to changing needs and priorities.
