Gardener

• Permanent full-time position 
• 38 hours per week (06.30 am to 02.30 pm, Mon to Fri) 
• Bankstown location, public transport close by
• Salary + relevant award entitlements including penalty rates + superannuation 

As the Head Gardener, you will be pivotal in ensuring the successful execution of garden and open space maintenance at a high-profile Infrastructure client. You will assist with leading a skilled team, ensuring our client's garden and open space maintenance standards are met and exceeded. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in horticulture, excellent organisational skills, and a proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist with leading a team of maintenance staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently.
• Follow schedules and prioritise tasks to ensure timely completion of garden maintenance activities, including planting, hedging, weeding, pruning and fertilising.
• Provide guidance, mentorship, and training to the team to enhance their horticultural skills and safety practices.
• Regularly inspect garden areas to assess their condition, identify improvements needed, and implement corrective actions.
• Enforce safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for all team members.

About You 

• Desirable, Certificate III in Horticulture or Parks & Gardens.
• Valid White Card
• Valid Drivers' license.
• Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with demonstrated ability to motivate and develop team members.
