The Role
As the Business Development Manager you be responsible for driving growth by identifying new sales and partnership opportunities, strengthening client relationships, supporting the adoption of new functionality, and expanding market presence. You will generate new sales across digital offerings, Software as a Service (SaaS), and the adoption of our affiliate model, along with account management as needed.
You will contribute to and develop strategic sales plans, generate and qualify leads, and collaborate closely with digital, product, and IT teams to enhance offerings. You will secure new commercial agreements, prepare quotes, analyse tourism industry trends, and foster industry partnerships to drive both revenue and brand reputation.
By understanding customer needs and market dynamics, you will play a key role in positioning the software solutions competitively, ensuring long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Brand Representation: Serve as the face and voice of the brand when engaging with potential and existing customers.
- Sales Strategy & Leadership: Develop and lead the implementation of strategic sales initiatives.
- Business Growth: Promote benefits while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities.
- Client Onboarding & Implementation: Manage the onboarding and implementation process for new clients.
- Training & Support: Oversee online and telephone training for both new and existing clients.
- Client Issue Management: Act as the primary escalation point for client issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Sales & Partnerships: Drive new sales and establish partnerships with tourism operators, regional tourism organizations, and government entities.
- Technology Rollouts: Contribute to the successful deployment of key technology rollouts.
- IT & Operations Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to align sales initiatives with operational processes.
- Technical Support & Quality Assurance: Provide technical support and ensure high software performance.
- Problem-Solving & User Experience: Proactively address challenges to enhance the user experience.
Your Experience
To be successful in this role you will have a strong background in solution-based sales and relationship management is highly valued. Additionally, the ability to serve as a bridge between customers and internal teams to ensure seamless implementation is a significant advantage, ideally specific to the tourism industry. You will have relevant tertiary qualifications and a natural curiosity to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
Whilst technical proficiency is important to the role, you will also have the attitude, soft skills and leadership capability to engage with a broad range of stakeholders. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will possess a high level of energy, self-motivation, autonomy, initiative, and attention to detail to be successful in meeting the business demands at G’day Group.
