The imminent merger of Unity Bank and G&C Mutual Bank is set to create one of Australia’s leading mutually owned banks with over 60,000 members, assets in excess of $3.6 billion and the capacity and capability to continue to invest in new products and services for the benefit of our members and the industries and communities in which we operate.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We’re seeking a collaborative, customer-focussed Head of Technology to join our team on a fixed contract term through to end March 2026, supporting the next stage of our evolution in the following areas:

• Leading an experienced team of IT professionals to ensure appropriate structures, systems, and processes are established and maintained to support the success of our newly merged organisation.
• Executing critical post-merger activities within required timeframes, including network infrastructure, phone system consolidation and security upgrades.
• Demonstrating proactive vendor management to ensure effective commercial relationships with key third-party providers, ensuring SLAs are met and support for systems and software across the organisation is consistent and effective.
• Fostering collaboration between IT and our Projects team, particularly in the areas of change management, and aligning process and procedures.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

With relevant qualifications and proven success in a similar role, ideally within financial services, you will have a strategic focus, exceptional leadership abilities and relevant technical knowledge, including familiarity with the Ultracs core banking system. Your proactive approach and passion for continuous improvement will support your contribution at a strategic level.

You will be results-focussed, taking ownership of your own and your teams’ objectives, working collaboratively with your peers to improve overall performance. Well-developed interpersonal skills coupled with the ability to influence and engage both internal and external stakeholders at all levels will enable your success in this position.
