About the role

We are seeking a Senior Estimator to join our Perth based Projects team. The role is offered on a max-term contract, commencing March 2025 through to December 2025. There is however a view to extend and/or roll to permanent.

Reporting to the VP Projects, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation of accurate and competitive project estimates, managing cost control processes, and providing guidance on project pricing and profitability.

Brief duties

  • Provide estimating support for mining engineering projects.
  • Preparation of detailed cost estimates, including labour, materials, equipment, and overhead costs, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams to review project requirements, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Develop and maintain cost databases, historical cost data, and cost models to support the estimating process and improve estimating accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support preparation of detailed bid proposals and cost breakdowns for client review and approval.
  • Review subcontractor and vendor proposals, negotiate pricing and terms, and select qualified suppliers and subcontractors to support project execution.
  • Communicate cost estimates, updates, and recommendations to senior management, clients, and other stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment with project objectives.
  • Liaise with Procurement and review of Final Forecast Cost for Equipment in the Adjudication Summaries / Request for Award to ensure accuracy and completeness for the Estimate (as required by AACEI Class of Estimate).

About you

  • Relevant qualifications -Desirable
  • 5+ years' experience in estimating and cost management
  • Previous experience in mineral processing plants. Rare Earth advantageous
  • Knowledge of EPC and EPCM contract environments
  • Knowledge of AACEI estimating guidelines and principles - desirable
  • Knowledge in areas of Escalation and Risk
  • Knowledge of Parametric estimate models and ability to present in different formats
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders
