About the role

We are seeking experienced Fixed Plant Maintenance Fitters to join the operations and maintenance team at the Mount Carlton Gold Operation as the site transitions through refurbishment, ramp-up and into steady-state operations.

This is a hands-on role for a tradesperson who takes pride in running plant safely, maintaining stable process conditions and working as part of a tight, site-based team. You will be actively involved in day-to-day plant maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting and continuous improvement across the processing circuit.

This role will be offered on a Max Term Full Time Contract and will see you work a 7/7 Roster Days/Nights. This role will be DIDO/BIBO from the Townsville Region. Accommodation and Meals are supplied whilst on site.

Duties will include but not be limited to:-

  • Perform planned, preventative and breakdown maintenance on fixed plant equipment within the gold processing facility
  • Maintain and repair equipment including pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, agitators, gearboxes, and processing plant components
  • Diagnose faults and mechanical issues to minimise downtime and ensure safe, reliable plant operation
  • Complete inspections and condition monitoring of plant equipment in accordance with site maintenance schedules
  • Work closely with the operations team to optimise plant availability and performance
  • Carry out shutdown maintenance activities, including component replacements, rebuilds and plant upgrades
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with site safety standards, procedures and statutory requirements
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, reports and work orders within the site maintenance management system
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in plant reliability, safety and efficiency
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across the processing plant and work areas

To be successful in this role, you will have:-

  • Trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter / Fitter & Turner or equivalent mechanical trade
  • Proven experience working within a gold processing plant or mineral processing environment
  • Strong experience maintaining fixed plant equipment such as pumps, conveyors, crushers, screens, mills, agitators and gearboxes
  • Current Mining, Minerals and Quarries Medical – desirable
  • Strong safety mindset with a commitment to following procedures and site standards.
  • Current Australian Drivers License – Essential
  • Right to Work in Australia – Essential
