Reporting to the Senior Vice President - APAC West, your primary responsibility is to plan, execute, and successfully complete projects within established timelines, budget constraints, and quality standards.
You will be the driving force behind the project's success, coordinating team members, resources, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery. Your excellent organizational, leadership, and communication and analytical skills will be essential in managing all aspects of the project lifecycle.
Key duties
- Project Planning: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, and resource allocation. Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and goals
- Team Management: Assemble and lead cross-functional project teams, assigning tasks, and clarifying responsibilities. Motivate and empower team members to achieve project milestones
- Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges that could impact project success. Develop strategies to mitigate risks and implement contingency plans if necessary
- Budget Management: Monitor project budgets, track expenses, and ensure cost control. Provide regular financial updates to stakeholders and management
- Communication: Establish clear communication channels within the team and with stakeholders. Keep everyone informed about project progress, updates, and changes. Conduct regular status meetings and prepare status reports
- Quality Assurance: Ensure project deliverables meet the specified quality standards. Conduct thorough testing and verification processes as needed
- Change Management: Manage changes in project scope, schedule, and objectives. Assess the impact of changes and obtain necessary approvals
- Stakeholder Engagement: Foster positive relationships with clients, internal teams, and external partners. Address stakeholder concerns promptly and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Project Documentation: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, reports, and other relevant materials
- Continuous Improvement: Identify areas for process improvement and implement best practices to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness
You will have
- Tertiary Degree in a relevant field
- Project Management certification - Advantageous
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or similar role, demonstrating successful project completions in the mining, minerals and metals industry
- Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and inspire teams
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities to handle multiple projects simultaneously
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies, cost and change management and control tools
- Analytical and problem-solving skills to address challenges and make informed decisions
