Our QA function is embedded into our teams and we've been uplifting automation skills in recent years. Supported by our QA Chapter Lead and Lead Test Automation Engineer, you'll work alongside a Senior Automation Engineer in a two squad team that focus on initiatives to create exceptional experiences for our members and deliver value to our Shareholders.
Your Role:
This position is going to suite an experienced Senior Quality Analyst who has gained automation engineering experience.
We're keen to continue building on our automation-first approach but there will be some scenarios where manual work is required. You can leverage your QA mindset to problem solving and not be siloed to purely automation.
There is no typical working week at Flybuys. But here are some of the things you might be working on, day-to-day;
- Collaborate with team and stakeholders to define test objectives, scope, and strategy for testing and identify test automation use cases where it makes sense.
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using automation testing tools and programming languages (e.g., Playwright, Jest, JS, typescript).
- Maintain comprehensive test documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test data.
- Document test results, defect reports, and any relevant information related to the testing process.
- Understanding on preparing and configure test environments for integration and regression testing.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in testing methodologies in respective team. Participate in retrospectives and provide feedback for process enhancements.
Your Ideal Skills & Experience:
- Demonstrated experience in an Agile based, fast paced, complex environment within long running cross-functional teams.
- Hands-on experience with modern JavaScript/typescript test framework such as Playwright, Cypress etc.
- Demonstrated experience in Web and API testing.
- Basic understanding of performance testing and modern tools is recommended such as K6.
- Understanding and knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) along with Software Testing and methodologies, concepts, and practice.
- Significant experience analysing/reviewing all documents related to requirements and technical solution to create test plans including all aspects of testing (eg: functional, system integration, stress, and performance).
- The ability to objectively review and provide feedback on test cases developed by team members.
- The ability to manage timelines in line with project schedules, to self manage and to work autonomously.
- Experience with service virtualisation and platform services (AWS & Azure).
- Be able to analyse, focus on problem solving and attention to details.
