Job Description


Our client, a leading distribution company, is currently seeking an ambitious Distribution Manager to help lead their team. This is a unique opportunity for a highly motivated candidate with a go-getter attitude and a drive to succeed. Responsibilities include:


1) Manage a group of 20-25 delivery drivers, including delivery schedule and hours worked

2) Complete daily routing for all Pepsi delivery routes, manage hot shots, and off-day deliveries

3) Manage within the established labor budget

4) Respond to all calls, and texts immediately from Route Supervisors related to deliveries, accidents and issues with vehicles and communicate the course of action if needed

5) Communicate effectively to all management in a timely manner

6) Answer field customer calls regarding deliveries and ensure customer service

7) Establish and maintain positive customer relationships, resolving customer issues related to delivery

8) Ensure store delivery time windows are met daily

9) Work proactively with the Bulk Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager and Warehouse Operations

10) Train, coach, lead and develop drivers to support the sales organization and improve daily productivity

11) Maintain and improve existing processes to further enhance productivity

12) Manage and oversee all equipment involved with delivery

13) Coordinate preventative maintenance on the fleet with fast fleet services

14) Complete all purchase orders for equipment and log and monitor all repairs

15) Ensure compliance with the Department of Transportation

16) Conduct team meetings and safety training to ensure that preventive measures are enforced

17) Serve as liaison between distribution and sales

18) Comply with operating procedures

19) Use the hand-held device to input and write orders

20) Assists in the recruitment of new employees, interviewing, and hiring of Route Drivers

21) Enforce disciplinary measures and reprimands

22) Ensure compliance with FMSCA and DOT

23) Review and publish the safety measure system rating overview report on a monthly basis

24) Work proactively with the Human Resources Team to ensure that all driver paperwork submitted for DOT driver files

25) Conduct investigations for any safety incidents or accidents and submit reports

26) Follow all safety operations, and company vehicle and equipment policies

27) Perform other duties as assigned


Critical Requirements


1) Appropriate full-time work experience is mandatory (no students or fresh graduates please)

2) Recent experience in the distribution industry is strongly preferred

3) Preference will be given to candidates with recent experience in distribution management

Base Salary: Highly competitive package, commensurate with experience
