A Senior Designer / Art Director IS insightful and invested in creating considered and crafted work, taking ideas and elevating the work to its greatest potential.  

As a natural problem solver, you’ll influence all phases of design and art direction through to execution. Assisting in the creation, ideation and delivery of projects across the design and creative teams within Fabric. 

THE TASK AT HAND   

The Senior Designer / Art Director is responsible for:   

  

  • Leading the conceptual development of creative projects with the ability to manage projects from inception through to finalisation  
  • Working collaboratively among a small team of specialists across creative, strategy and production  
  • Working across multiple products in a dynamic and fast paces environment  
  • Coming up with clear and strategic design and/or art directions responses to briefs through channel-agnostic design/ art direction 
  • Understanding the client’s needs, listening closely so you can come up with an informed understanding and deliver well considered, thoughtful responses. 
  • Creating and crafting original and usable concepts/designs in response to strategic/creative briefs 
  • Designing logos, the creation of brand identities and design guidelines 
  • Developing inspiring art directions that stand out in market 
  • Recommending and briefing crew, model talent based on the specific budget and ask of the brief 
  • Presenting work in a clear, coherent and professional manner 
  • Working closely with relevant teams, ensuring effective communication and management of teams’ expectations 
  • Managing and owning design/creative output to ensure consistency and quality of work delivered 
  • Prioritising your own workload to ensure team’s demands are met and managed 


WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO FABRIC  

    

Skills    

  • 6+ years experience in a design/creative environment with experience across design, branding, art direction/campaign creation. 
  • Exceptional design, art direction, layout, typography and design skills with a refined eye and aesthetic  
  • Extraordinary typographic skills  
  • A diverse portfolio demonstrating clear ideas-based thinking, brand systems/identity, strong craft and implementation 
  • Comprehensive skills in the Adobe Creative Suite (Experience in 3D, motion, animation app’s an advantage) 
  • Creative and ideas driven and genuinely passionate about design 
  • Incredible attention to detail. Ensure your work is fully critiqued/fit for purpose from commercial, client and creative/technical perspectives. 
  • Design focus with a passion for brand and identity 
  • Motion graphics, illustration, or photography skills a bonus 
  • Creative and ideas driven and genuinely passionate about design 

 

Knowledge   

  • Relevant experience in working with premium fashion, retail and/or lifestyle brands  
  • Good knowledge of new and emerging trends and tools

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills  
  • Ability to work independently and contribute within a team as required 
  • Ability to manage your time across several work streams 
  • Have an enthusiasm for typography, composition, and layout, with a developing eye for detail. 
  • Driven by the pursuit of elegant design solutions and crafted treatments 
  • Have a passion for brands and branding 
  • Meticulous, organised and able to multitask 
  • Great at conceptualising and demonstrate a high level of craft skills, typographic excellence and detail oriented design. 
  • Easy to work with, a good mentor who loves growing talent.
