About the role: 

Evoenergy has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Data Analyst within our Operational Analytics team to strengthen our data analytics capabilities across Evoenergy. Using your business acumen, operational and analytical thinking skills, complemented by your specialised expertise in data warehousing and advanced visual analytics, you will assist Evoenergy to achieve its strategic objectives.

Key responsibilities: 

  • Develop and maintains Evoenergy’s analytics semantic layer to ensure efficient flow of data from reporting databases, to simplify the querying process, and to ensure consistency in calculation of metrics across the various reporting
  • Provide technical input on business decisions related to the advancement of data analytics’ capabilities.
  • Design and configure innovative visual analytics products (including dashboards, reports) using a range of available applications such as Rstudio/Posit, Python, SQL server, Power Query and Power BI
  • Work cooperatively and cohesively with relevant Technology areas to design and build robust and supportable data solutions
  • Other duties within the employee's skill, competence and training.

Our ideal candidate: 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, Commerce, Data Science, or Actuarial Studies
  • Coding experience using R, Python, SQL, as well as experience using business analytics software and software version control.
  • Strong, significant experience in data modelling and proficiency in data modelling tools and techniques, such as entity-relationship diagrams, dimensional modelling, star and snowflake schemas, and normalisation and denormalization.
  • Design knowledge and skills in constructing the structure, components, and processes of a semantic layer considering business objectives, data sources, data volumes, data users, performance, and scalability
  • Takes active steps to ensure the safety of colleagues and our community, championing a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment.
