About the Role 

The Sector Principal Consultant, Imagery & Remote Sensing Lead contributes to the ongoing success of the company through the leadership and promotion of technical excellence for cross sector Imagery & Remote Sensing solutions. This individual facilitates technical excellence amongst consulting staff in the delivery of projects, with accountability for client/customer service excellence.

Your day to day would look like this:

  • Deliver or monitor the geospatial and imagery technical deliverables of all assigned programs, projects, or engagements within the sector and cross sector, and resolve any technical issues or conflicts with clients in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure technical excellence is delivered to the standard that ensures accounts are referenceable and key clients renew their Esri Australia contracts.
  • Ensure consistency in scoping and solutions with Imagery & Remote Sensing technologies to ensure risk identification, management, and mitigation for the specific business opportunity.
  • Oversee the solution sales lifecycle including technical deliverables and tender response.
  • Confidently present proposals and solutions involving Image Management, GIS ready product creation, GeoAI and AI analysis, to the stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the achievement of sector and overall services revenue targets.
  • Work collaboratively with the Sector Delivery Leads, Sector Program Managers and Senior Consultant Technical Leads to share lessons learnt, approaches and experiences on projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other Sector Principal Consultants to share lessons learnt and identify opportunities to value-add in the delivery of projects in other sectors.
  • Be instrumental to establish and maintain Esri Australia Delivery Services as a Brand.
  • Mentor, train, and coach individual team members to perform to the maximum of their ability, and co-ordinate the progressive skill development and cross training of employees.
  • Remain up to date with ESRI / partner products and relevant technology and prepare consulting practices for changes to business and market trends.
  • Drive longer-term strategies and initiatives that will deliver retention, growth and scale.
  • Be seen as a Trusted Advisor for Imagery and Remote Sensing Solutions in the sector.


About You  

We are seeking a skilled Geospatial Imagery and Remote Sensing Specialist to join our Professional Services Team, where they will support the delivery of image-based solutions, image processing & GeoAI solutions, and image web service delivery solutions.

You will be successful if you have:

  • University degree in Imagery and Remote Sensing, Geography, Engineering, IT, or related field
  • Minimum associate level ESRI or relevant technology certification.
  • Minimum 10 years of Imagery and Remote Sensing Experience.
  • Technical experience with ArcGIS Imagery toolsets, ArcIS Enterprise Imagery, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Development, ArcGIS Products, and ArcGIS Pro Extensions.
  • Substantial experience delivering Imagery Solutions to organisations within the sector, managing Imagery platforms, designing Imagery Solutions based on customer needs or similar.
  • Subject Matter Expertise in Imagery and Remote Sensing, Lidar, 3D and other core Professional Services (PS) and specialist PS skills.
  • Previous experience in an Imagery and Remote Sensing technical leadership role.
  • The ability to mentor and motivate a diverse range of staff.
  • Strong interpersonal / client engagement skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
