About the Role

In this pivotal role, you will work closely with senior leadership, managing all financial and accounting operations to ensure that financial strategies align with business objectives. You will play a key role in driving financial governance, reporting accuracy, and regulatory compliance, while also leading a high-performing finance team. Your insights will support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making, ensuring the organisation’s continued success.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Overseeing financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Leading the preparation and monitoring of budgets and financial forecasts, analysing variances and providing strategic recommendations.
  • Managing compliance with taxation laws and implementing tax planning strategies to optimise the organisation’s tax position.
  • Liaising with banks and auditors to maintain financial health, strengthen relationships, and ensure smooth audits.
  • Leading, mentoring, and fostering a collaborative and high-performance finance team.
  • Developing and refining internal finance policies and procedures to align with best practices.
  • Driving the governance and optimisation of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems to enhance efficiency and data accuracy.
  • Staying up to date with Australian financial laws and regulations to ensure ongoing compliance.

About You

You are a highly skilled and strategic finance professional with a passion for business partnering, compliance, and financial leadership. With a keen eye for detail and a strong analytical mindset, you are comfortable managing complex financial operations and providing insights that drive business success.

To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • CA or CPA qualification (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or a related field will be highly regarded.
  • Significant experience leading a finance team in an accounting or financial management role.
  • Expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, with a strong understanding of IFRS 15.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, with experience leveraging technology for financial efficiency and governance.
  • Proven change management experience, embedding financial policies and procedures across an organisation.
  • A commercial mindset, with curiosity to understand cost drivers and provide financial insights to business units.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills, with the ability to mentor teams and present financial insights to stakeholders.
  • Autonomy and initiative, with a proactive approach to identifying business challenges and implementing solutions.
