About the role
We have an exciting opportunity in our Field Operations Division for a qualified and experienced electrical tradespersons to join our Distribution team based at our Kandos Field Service Centre. Your trade qualification can be either a Distribution Powerline Worker or Electrical Fitter Mechanic.
Working as part of a small crew, you will be involved in:
- all facets of underground, overhead and substation construction and maintenance activities as well as emergency restoration work
- after-hours fault & emergency response work when required
Key accountabilities
The role of the EFM/DPW is based around customer response, inclusive of the following tasks:
- Start-up tasks and operate plant and equipment
- Streetlighting maintenance and installation and pole replacement and dressing pole
- Working at heights (overhead switching, overhead transformer replacement)
- Overhead switching, operating and maintaining/ replacing switchgear
- Fault finding/ testing and inspections
About you
To be considered for this opportunity, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Trade Qualification as an Electrical Fitter Mechanic or Distribution Powerline Worker
- Sound knowledge of construction and maintenance practices for the underground and overhead distribution network
- Experience in installation, repair and maintenance of both overhead and underground substations
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
- Personal commitment to working safely and good knowledge of OH&S policies and procedures covering field operations
- Current MR driver’s licence
- Customer-centric approach
The following would be highly desirable:
- HR and HC licence
- WorkCover Certificates: EWP, C2, DG & Forklift
- Traffic Control Certificates
- Switching capability
- Ability to use iPads and Microsoft Office
