About the role

As a Senior System Operator, you will be responsible for the daily management and operation of Endeavour Energy’s Control Rooms. You will oversee the effective use of resources to maintain a safe and secure environment while ensuring the quality, reliability, and security of the Transmission and Distribution Network. This role plays a critical part in network operations, emergency response coordination, and workforce management in a 24/7 environment. Your leadership will help drive operational excellence, safety compliance, and system reliability across all aspects of network control.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead and Develop the System Operation Team – Provide leadership through staff development, mentoring, and strategic planning, contributing to the overall vision and direction of the System Control branch.
  • Ensure Safe and Reliable Network Operations – Oversee all operations on the Endeavour Energy network, ensuring safety, system security, reliability, and continuity of supply for both routine and emergency work.
  • Coordinate Emergency Response and Recovery – Manage emergency operations in collaboration with Executive and Senior Management, contractors, and external authorities to ensure effective disaster recovery.
  • Monitor Network Demand and Safety Compliance – Track network demand and weather conditions, ensuring appropriate response actions, while promoting safe work practices and adherence to safety policies.
  • Oversee Workforce Management and Resource Allocation – Manage rostering, staffing, and resource allocation in the Control Room to maintain operational efficiency in a 24/7 work environment.

About you

An energised individual who demonstrates a positive attitude with supportive and professional behaviours that align with Endeavours culture, with the ability to engage confidently with our team, customers and stakeholders. 

Required Qualifications

  • Electrical Trade (Electrical Fitter Mechanic) or equivalent relevant experience.

Desired

  • Experience as a System Operator in the electricity utility sector

Licences/Tickets

  • C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM).
  • Workcover Induction for Construction Work - General Course.
