The Senior Project Manager is accountable for leading Capital Programs and /or complex Projects across all Delivery Phases of the Project Lifecycle Framework, assuring delivery to time, cost and quality constraints.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead, facilitate and manage Programs and / or Complex Projects across all Delivery Phases of the Project Lifecycle Framework through to completion.
  • Provide leadership for the project delivery team by building and motivating team members to meet Program and or Complex Project Goals.
  • Develop, execute, and continually review the Project Management Plan to drive delivery of the Program and / or complex Project to time, cost and quality requirements.
  • Manage Scope changes across the Program and / or Complex Project including preparation and facilitation of any variation requests.
  • Develop, monitor and update schedules in Microsoft Project, including identification of hard and soft interdependencies, to manage the delivery of scope within approved timeframes.
  • Develop, monitor and update resource loading against schedules to ensure timely resource allocation and availability to deliver scope.
  • Develop and manage Program and / or Complex Project Budgets, Cash Flows and subsequent forecasting to ensure minimal variance monthly, Year to date and End of Project.
  • Develop and deliver monthly status reporting and as required presentations to stakeholders.
  • Develop, manage and continually review Program and / or complex Project delivery and construction risks and issues to mitigate impact to baseline.
  • Develop and implement and continually review project specific safety and environmental management plans.
  • Provide recommendations and facilitate the assessment of identified network constraints or defects associated with distribution programs collaboratively with Divisional stakeholders.
  • Coach and mentor Project Managers and Project Supervisors in the section / branch to assist with the development of their skills, competencies and organisational knowledge.
  • Drive continuous improvement in contract management execution. Responsible for safe, and efficient contractor management on projects. 
  • Manage the procurement of construction services including the development of contract specifications and Inspection & Test Plans, managing the tendering process and administration of the contract.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, agility, innovation and excellence.

Qualifications, Certifications and Licences

  • Advanced Diploma in Engineering / Business / Construction 
  • Diploma in Project Management 

Licences/Tickets

  • C Vehicle licence up to 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass (GVM)
  • Green Card Workcover Induction for Construction Work - General Course 

Skills and Experience

  • Advanced professional: more than 10 years experience in a similar/professional role within the Construction, Energy/Electrical or Utilities industries.
