Position Purpose

As the Head of Asset Management and Digital, you will be primarily responsible for providing strategic leadership in infrastructure asset planning, management, and optimisation. You will drive the integration of advanced digital technologies to enhance efficiency, streamline processes, and maximise value to our customers of our assets.

Additionally, the role oversees the development of advanced quantification methodologies, AI and investment programs that align with long-term energy objectives. This will ensure the establishment of modern engineering design and maintenance standards while fostering strategic partnerships to enhance asset performance.

With a strong focus on data-driven insights and comprehensive reporting, you will ensure transparency in asset performance, investment outcomes, and risk assessments. This position is instrumental in strengthening asset management capabilities and driving the organisation’s digital transformation.

Key Accountabilities

  • Long-Term Asset Planning: Lead the management of long-term asset planning and risk forecasting to identify and develop key investment, intervention, and maintenance programs.
  • Analytical Technology Development: Spearhead the adoption of cutting-edge analytical technologies, including digital twins, machine learning, and AI, to enhance investment and intervention planning processes.
  • Quantification Methodologies: Oversee the creation of robust quantification methodologies that support investment management and portfolio optimisation, collaborating with experts and developing climate models as needed.
  • Reporting and Insights: Develop comprehensive reporting frameworks and insights to communicate asset performance, investment impacts, and risk assessments to stakeholders, ensuring transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Engineering Design Standards: Establish engineering design standards and equipment specifications to streamline procurement processes, ensuring efficiency and alignment with organisational goals.
  • Infrastructure Partnerships: Liaise with potential infrastructure partners to explore and support dual-use infrastructure opportunities, maximising the efficiency and effectiveness of our assets.
  • Maintenance Standards Management: Maintain and oversee maintenance standards, fostering key relationships with the EPMO and Field Operations to ensure effective asset risk management.
  • Investment Program Development: Design and implement short term and 25-year investment program focused on Repex (Replacement Expenditure) and maintenance, aligning our asset strategy with future energy needs and our risk appetite.

Qualifications, Certifications and Licences

  • Degree qualification in Engineering, Business, Planning, or equivalent 

Skills and Experience

  • Extensive experience in asset management, risk forecasting, or a related field.
  • Proficiency in analytical technologies and methodologies relevant to asset optimisation.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills to engage with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Innovative mindset with a commitment to integrating digital solutions into asset management practices.
