This role may be based in any of Endeavour College's six campuses in Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, Gold Coast or Adelaide. Endeavour College has Flexible Working Location arrangements in place, where the candidate may be able to work from home for a fraction of the appointment, upon negotiation with the Provost.

The Academic Data Analyst handles the collection, analysis, and reporting of academic data to drive decision-making. They collaborate with academic and administrative staff to maintain data integrity and deliver insights that advance institutional goals.

About the Role

Position Summary:

The Academic Data Analyst is responsible for the collection, analysis, and reporting of academic data to support decision-making processes within the institutions. They will work closely with academic and administrative staff to ensure data integrity and provide insights that contribute to the strategic goals of the institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop methods and reports to collect and retrieve relevant data. Liaise with student records, regulatory and other staff as needed
  • Collect and analyse data related to academic metrics, student performance, enrolment trends, and academic program effectiveness.
  • Develop and maintain databases and data systems and records necessary for projects and department functions.
  • Analyse and interpret complex data sets using statistical techniques and provide ongoing reports.
  • Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets.
  • Locate and define new process improvement opportunities.
  • Prepare reports for leadership that effectively communicate trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data-related needs and support their data analysis requirements.
  • Issue student and graduate surveys, collate and analyse data received, and compile reports to report on student and graduate outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Liaise with student records, regulatory and other staff as needed in the performance of these responsibilities.

About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience as a data analyst or business data analyst.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development and data mining.
  • Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analyzing datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, etc.).
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience in higher education or academic settings.
  • Familiarity with data management and analysis tools specific to the academic sector.
