About the Role

The Student Success Adviser will support a portfolio of students through their learning journey with the College. The focus will be to provide exceptional and proactive student support ensuring our students are engaged and managing their studies to completion.

This role is responsible for cultivating a supportive, holistic student environment centered on engagement and uncompromising customer service. The primary focus is to drive student retention through active cohort management and progression planning. Educating and empowering students to manage their own studies. You will be able to offer timely and effective customer service and support to assist students with early intervention plans, course progression, re-enrolment, return to studies, course direction to completion outcomes.  

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Calling students, regular consultations, group consultations, support webinars and regular touchpoints across all stages of the student study journey, managing general enquiries, course progression planning and enrolment, study load management, study support access and documentation.
  • Identifying and proactively supporting any students at risk for failure or non-completion of studies and exit support strategies.
  • Providing a collaborative, solutions-focused approach to empower students to overcome any obstacles that may impact their ability to commit to their studies.
  • Drive re-enrolment and retention targets through efficient progression and re-enrolment planning consultations aligned with course outlines.
  • Actively participating in Student Orientation and engagement activities to support building student connections.
  • Providing regular updates on the success of your cohort from the student database and cohort dashboard management.

About You

  • A relevant Bachelor’s degree and/or experience providing support to students
  • Customer service experience in a fast-paced professional environment with a passion for education and student support
  • Experience in a higher education setting preferred
  • Experience in using CRM systems and reporting
  • Strong communication (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills with proven ability to build rapport at all levels
  • Ability to operate effectively in a team, contributing positively to team operations and working relationships
  • Ability to demonstrate the qualities of initiative, sensitivity, tact and loyalty and an appreciation for the need for confidentially and discretion
  • Ability to engage in robust conversations with professionalism and respect to reach solution-focused outcomes
  • A student service mentality and respect for balancing both people, policies, procedures and business needs
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and work to deadlines both autonomously and as part of a team
