In the role of Project Controls Summer Student, you are assigned to and works in close collaboration with a senior Project Controls Coordinator (PCC) to accomplish standard Project Controls tasks, including Cost monitoring, forecasting, and reporting, Contracts change management, PO creation and Invoice processing to support the execution of Enhancement and Maintenance Capital projects during the construction phase.

Placement Details:

This is a 4-month summer placement starting in May 2025, located in Calgary, AB.

What you will do:

Provides cost control support for the assigned projects by:

  • Gathering and finalizing accruals for projects incurred costs.
  • Capturing contract changes for accurate cost forecasting.
  • Assist with period forecast variance analysis.
  • Create service PO requisitions.
  • Verify Budget and provide correct WBS codes.
  • Maintain LEMS Log for progress and performance tracking.
  • Review and verify daft invoices to generate payment certificates.
  • Assist in processing pending contractors’ invoices.
  • Assist in closing out POs and projects.
  • Update Weekly Performance Report as and when required.
  • Provide data for Monthly PC Dashboard updates.
  • Update historic cost database.

Scope:

  • The impact of this role is confined to the immediate work unit or project, will interact with external stakeholders as needed under the guidance of a senior level employee.
  • Assignments are determined and delegated by a senior level employee.
  • Recommendations are reviewed for accuracy.

Contacts:

  • Verbal and written communication typically consists of the collection and relay of technical facts and analysis of business implications.
  • Required to communicate technical issues to technical and non-technical staff.

Who you are: 

  • You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Engineering or Business and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term. 
  • Effective and professional communication both verbal and written with ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, High Performance).

Working Conditions: 

  • Office based role, located in Calgary, AB
  • Expectation to produce required reports and cost data in a timely manner.
