In the role of Network Services summer Student, you will help to deliver on network and infrastructure related technology initiatives and foundational technologies that support Enbridge’s infrastructure. It’s an excellent job for people who want to put their foundational knowledge to work while helping support initiatives that are technology related and that impacts the operations of a large organization.
Placement Details:
This is a 4-month summer placement starting in May 2025 located in one of our major offices: Calgary or Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, Toronto or Chatham, Ontario Canada.
What you will do:
- Review network topology diagrams for accuracy and adjust as required.
- Assist team with Cisco router/switch software upgrades (Copy and verify OS files, etc.).
- Assist with lifecycle of network hardware – unboxing, configuring, boxing and shipping.
- Patching/cabling in LAN closets to enable access ports.
- Assist with standard network changes such as configuring access vlans.
- Perform data input tasks in Netbox for us (IPAM, DCIM).
- Learn the basic functionality of the NetBox UI, perform data input, review other data sources (Panorama, SharePoint, CMDB, etc) and complete validation with subject matter experts for clarity.
- Support Gen AI initiatives as they relate to Network Services
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Computer Sciences or Network Technology and will be returning to full time school immediately.
- Basic understanding of switching - VLANs, Spanning Tree and routing – SVIs, static routes, HSRP.
- Effective and professional communication both verbal and written with ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Software development skills in any language is an asset
- Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion and High performance).
Working Conditions:
- Office based role, located in one of our five major offices in Alberta (Calgary or Edmonton), Ontario (Chatham or Toronto).
