In the role of Project Development Summer Student, you will work as part of a diverse, innovative, and collaborative team to develop the practical skills needed to build your future career. This role will provide you with experience in the Project Development team. You will support Project Development Leads to complete project deliverables, data analytics, and improvement initiatives. You will be exposed to various elements of a project lifecycle with the opportunity for field visits. You will get an opportunity to network with a wide array of professionals.
You will use your critical thinking, communication, and analytical skills to support the development of projects while ensuring Enbridge’s Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) goals are being met. Through this there will be an opportunity to get to understand and support Enbridge’s energy transition ambitions.
Placement Details:
This is a 4-month summer student placement starting in May, located in Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB.
What you will do:
Supporting Project Development, you will:
- Have responsibility to support completion of the following activities including but not limited to:
- Engagement with key stakeholders to create project deliverables such as Project Charters, Estimates, and Schedules
- Data analytics to support leadership with informed decision making
- Coordination of stakeholders to facilitate effective decision-making including involvement of environment and regulatory groups to ensure Non-Technical Risks (NTR) are addressed
- Preparation and delivery of presentations
- Site visits to engage with key stakeholders and collect pertinent data
- Engagement with Engineering Design companies
- Have duties that will span a wide variety of work with different Projects in varying regions across North America and at various stages of project development.
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Engineering and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term.
- Effective and professional verbal and written communication, with the ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion and High Performance).
Working Conditions:
- Office based role, located in Calgary, AB or Edmonton, AB
- Up to 20% Field work
