In the role of Geological Engineering Co-op Student, you will provide support to the Underground Storage team through research, data management, project support and other ad hoc duties related to underground storage assets. It’s an excellent job for engineering students looking to gain experience within the oil and gas industry.
Placement Details:
This can be a 12 or 16 month co-op placement starting in May 2025, located in Sarnia, ON (Mooretown).
What you will do:
- Researching the latest developments in new energy technologies for the subsurface geological storage industry.
- Preparing reports and presentations on new energy technologies including Hydrogen and CO2 technologies.
- Help to prepare training materials and training programs related to new energy technologies.
- Help in the development of capital projects for new energy technologies.
- Gain understanding on the challenges for the conversion of existing underground storage reservoirs and salt caverns to Hydrogen storage.
- Gain understanding for the geological storage of CO2 in multiple reservoir types.
- Develop and review engineering specifications for Hydrogen and CO2 underground storage assets.
- Assist in geomechanical modeling and analysis for the CCS, including stress-strain behavior, fault stability, and caprock integrity assessments. Support the Monitoring, Measurement, and Verification (MMV) development strategy, including monitoring techniques such as seismic, microseismic, and pressure monitoring.
- Assist with geomechanical testing while drilling strategy.
Who you are:
- You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Petroleum Engineering, Geological Engineering or Geoscience (Geology/Geophysics) and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term.
- Effective and professional communication both verbal and written with ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
- Contributes to their networks by sharing resources, feedback, advice, and innovations that improve the performance of the organization and peers.
- Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.

- Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, High Performance).

- Office based role, located in Sarnia, ON
