In the role of Engineering Summer Student, you will be drafting support, manage regional inventory for production equipment, and complete filing and data organization.  It’s an excellent job for people who gaining experience in the corporate environment and applying the problem-solving skills you are learning in a real-world environment.

Placement Details:

This is a 3-month placement starting in June 2025, located in Schererville, IN.

What you will do:

  • Complete/draft regional map and publish for the region
  • Region wide inventory list, compare with SCM, update/tag as needed
  • Review GLR regional failure data and compare with corporate data. Trend and predict failures
  • Review drawing requirements (source of truth) and organize/update/dispose physical drawings as needed
  • Review retention requirements for project data and properly file or dispose of physical project files as needed
  • Support other tasks (updating training records for leaders, ER documentation, etc.)

Who you are: 

  • You are currently enrolled in a full time post-secondary program studying Engineering and will be returning to full time school immediately following the work term. 
  • Effective and professional communication both verbal and written with ability to communicate with all levels within the organization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Solid computer skills and experience using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to actively and consistently represent Enbridge’s core values (Safety, Integrity, Respect, Inclusion, High Performance).
  • Autocad drafting skills

 

Working Conditions: 

  • Office based role, located in Schererville, IN
  • Relocation assistance is not provided.

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 45 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
