Position Overview: 

The Project Controls Coordinator will be responsible for delivering "Total Cost Control" guidance, governance, and support to Project Managers and project team members. This role involves collaboration with schedule control counterparts and supports the implementation of all Project Control processes and procedures, including Baselining, Change Management, Risk Assessments, Lifecycle Stage Gates, and Reporting. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set control budgets and manage project cost controls, forecasting, and analyzing forecast variances and cost/schedule performance indices.
  • Prepare stage gate deliverables and identify project risks.
  • Generate monthly, bi-monthly, and quarterly reports for various audiences, including senior executives and the Board of Directors.
  • Provide support to Project Managers and project cost controls staff on cost planning, tracking, measurement, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure adherence to approved cost controls standards for managing Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) components.
  • Maintain cost and schedule planning, tracking, and reporting tools.
  • Apply Earned Value Management (EVM) principles to identify, analyze, and report cost risks.
  • Engage in continuous communication with Project Managers and cost controls teams to address project cost-related needs.
  • Monitor project reporting, identify deviations, and assist in data gathering and delivery.
  • Participate in joint Cost, Schedule, and Risk Health Checks to verify effective planning and implementation of cost processes.
  • Attend project meetings with vendors to understand project status changes and analyze budget issues.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in cost management and project controls functions across multiple projects.
  • Preferred experience in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, Industrial, and/or Power industries.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Construction Management from an accredited university preferred.
  • Certified Cost Engineer (AACE's CCC/CCE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) credential preferred.
  • Proficient in Oracle, EcoSys, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Familiarity with Power BI, OneDrive, and SharePoint for documentation and reporting.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to prioritize a heavy workload.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a dispersed team.

Work Environment:

  • Primarily office-based with occasional travel to other offices or project sites in the United States.
  • Manage time effectively to support 10 or more projects, typically lasting one to two years and ranging from $300K to $10MM.
