About the Role:

The Advisor, Accounting is a key role responsible for managing and optimizing the financial performance of our GTM US consolidated assets. This position serves as the primary point of contact for financial matters, ensuring accurate accounting records, effective cash management, and strong business relationships across departments. The Advisor, Accounting leverages their expertise to support both internal and external stakeholders, addressing various requests and issues as they arise.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review monthly financial statements and support schedules for internal management.
  • Prepare, review, and approve monthly journal entries, including intercompany billings.
  • Conduct variance analysis on monthly actual balance sheets and income statements.
  • Perform research and analysis for ad hoc questions or requests from stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal groups such as FP&A, Regulatory, Treasury, and Reporting.
  • Manage intercompany receivables & payables rollups and settlements for GTMUS entities.
  • Handle AP invoice payment processing and miscellaneous AR third-party billings.
  • Prepare and review quarterly and annual FERC Form 3 and Form 2 supplemental pages.
  • Conduct account reconciliations and variance analysis/ad hoc account analysis.
  • Coordinate with internal and external auditors for quarterly and year-end audits.
  • Ensure compliance with SOX controls and related reporting requirements.
  • Participate in special projects as required.

Scope:

The Advisor, Accounting interacts with various stakeholders to develop and maintain processes that optimize Gas Transmission & Midstream assets' performance and ensure compliance with GAAP and FERC accounting standards. The role involves generating actionable recommendations for senior leaders, auditors, and financial managers to resolve identified issues.

Internal Stakeholders:

  • Regulatory & Compliance: Assist during rate proceedings, cost revenue studies, and filings.
  • Legal: Support corporate secretary group during cash & non-cash distributions or contributions.
  • Treasury: Assist during financing transactions, unit buybacks, and cash management matters.
  • Tax: Discuss property tax and sale/use tax accruals and payments.
  • Other Accounting Functions: Ensure accurate financial reporting disclosures and support FP&A variance analysis.
  • PACS Sustainability & External Affairs US: Account for stakeholder outreach programs.
  • Safety and Reliability (S&R): Manage accounting and reserves for environmental matters.

External Stakeholders:

  • Independent Auditors and Joint Venture Partners: Facilitate auditor access and support company positions.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 5+ years of related experience.
  • Proficiency in Oracle, SAP, and HFM.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
  • Strong research, investigation, analysis, and decision-making skills.
  • Broad business and technical knowledge for problem resolution.
  • CPA preferred, but not required.

Working Conditions:

  • General office environment with occasional overtime required.
  • Minimal travel requirement.
