What EIT will be involved in:

  • This position is responsible for supporting, performing and coordinating required Leak Detection commissioning
  • This position is accountable for configuring, maintaining, and quality assurance testing leak detection Computational Pipeline Monitoring (CPM) systems and related technologies.
  • This position is responsible for supporting Leak Detection Subject Matter Experts (LD SMEs) in the development and execution of implementation plans, as well as the development and update of project documentation.


Specific Accountabilities:

  • Works under the direction of Leak Detection subject matter experts and Project Managers.
  • Performs statistical analysis of large data sets.
  • Performs routine maintenance tasks on leak detection models which includes reviews of alarms, displays, overrides, model diagnostics, and data files.
  • Performs datapath commissioning.
  • Performs updates to model configurations.
  • Creates/reviews/updates documention.
  • Support the Development and updating rollout plans.
  • Creates/updates procedures and training materials.
  • Provides forecasts for work tasks, and provides progress updates.
  • Actively participates in the Enbridge safety culture.


Scope/Dimensions:

  • This is a safety critical role where daily activities and independent decisions can directly influence Enbridge’s ability to respond to a release or comply with existing leak detection related regulations.
  • Performs analysis of leak detection systems and informs SMEs of results and findings.
  • Supports Leak Detection projects with scope up to several hundred thousand dollars.


Contacts (Working Relationships) :

  • Works directly with Leak Detection Subject Matter Experts, Project Managers, SCADA Systems Analysts, and other Leak Detection team members to ensure that existing Leak Detection Systems are functioning.
  • This position documents and communicates results and issues impacting the Projects to the LD SMEs, Supervisors and Manager in Leak Detection.


Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • EIT or University Business degree Graduate and 1-2 years' experience OR an equivalent mix of formal education and experience.
  • Ability to think analytically and perform detailed analysis on large sets of data.
  • Able to coordinate multiple projects with defined timelines.
  • Knowledge in pipeline Hydraulics and computer programming experience, is a definite assett.
  • Knowledge or experience using real-time transient model software and/or statistical modeling software
  • Ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment.
  • Effective communication, facilitation, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.


Nice to have:

  • Experience with Synergi Pipeline Simulator.
  • Knowledge of Control Centre operations and SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of SharePoint, JIRA, and PI.
