About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will independently monitor, control, and report on the performance and cost-related aspects of projects managed by our project management teams. Your primary focus will be ensuring that costs for assigned projects are identified, accounted for, and reported accurately and timely, in accordance with our established business practices and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide cost control support to project management teams by collecting information for project cost estimates, establishing control budgets, and monitoring incurred project costs.
- Conduct cost forecasting, variance analysis, and cost reporting to various stakeholders.
- Ensure Enbridge-sanctioned cost control processes are applied in project activities.
- Interpret project-specific business requirements and align them with Enbridge’s project lifecycle gating control processes.
- Prioritize complex, multiple, competing projects effectively, adjusting priorities based on departmental objectives and the company’s strategic plan.
- Collaborate closely with the PMO, Financial Services department, and other project stakeholders.
- Build and maintain relationships with a broad cross-section of stakeholders within and beyond the Projects business unit.
- Prepare reports and presentations for project management team members and stakeholders regarding project budget cost status.
- Track and report project performance against the plan in collaboration with the Project Scheduler.
- Review policies and procedures, recommending improved processes for project cost management.
Scope:
- Impact extends to multiple work units, internal stakeholders (e.g., support departments), and external stakeholders (e.g., vendors and customers).
- Decision-making is guided by standardized practices, existing processes, and professional judgment.
- Assignments are often self-identified and completed independently.
- Recommendations are reviewed for soundness of judgment but are usually accepted as technically accurate.
- May provide guidance to junior employees.
Communication:
- Communicate complex technical facts and analyze business implications verbally and in writing.
- Required to communicate technical issues to both technical and non-technical staff.
Qualifications:
- University degree or equivalent in a related field.
- A minimum of seven years of directly related experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, company financial systems, enterprise structure, and standard operating procedures.
- Strong ability to manage and prioritize workload and resolve issues timely.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including strong spelling and grammar.
- Aptitude for building relationships with employees, internal stakeholders, vendors, and service providers.
Working Conditions:
- Office environment with occasional overnight business or construction field trips.
- Expectation to produce required reports and cost data timely.
- Occasional travel to field worksite locations, which may require Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
