Responsibilities:

This search is for a proven business project manager (i.e not for an IT or System/Software professional) that will be working within the Asset Management Governance team and who will be managing multiple business projects and initiatives in areas pertaining to Capital/Investment Management, Risk Management, Regulatory, and Asset Management Programs. The candidate will also be working on process improvement initiatives.

  • With a strong focus on consultation and results, manage and deliver projects using formal project management methods and approaches that best suit the situation.
  • Responsible for all project management aspects from initiation to completion, ensuring change adoption. Projects are typically cross-functional and often require forming and leading cross-departmental teams
  • Provide status reports and make presentations on critical projects for all levels of management
  • Provide direction and insights on different approaches to deliver initiatives through participation in a team environment and by employing change management practices
  • Devise and manage project plans that identify key deliverables, activities, and resources required to reach desired outcomes
  • Review and update documentation after multiple stakeholder reviews, being able to carefully track changes, identify needed edits, and pass through several approval steps.
  • Focus on longer-term or multi-year plans and determining the steps and progress needed annually to reach long-term goals
  • Take an active role in the development and implementation of project deliverables
  • Improve upon existing processes by identifying gaps and orchestrating efficiencies, ensuring that process users understand, adopt, and sustain the process changes

Qualifications:

Must Have

  • Undergraduate degree in business administration, engineering or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
  • Professional designation in engineering, accounting and/or project management considered an asset (P. Eng, CGA, CMA or PMP)
  • 7-10 years of related business and project management experience
  • Strong focus on execution
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and or process improvements, including leading project teams with more than 10 dedicated project team members
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including building consensus, negotiation and facilitation
  • Ability to establish good client and project /executive sponsor relationships
  • Excellent communication, problem resolution, presentation, and analytical skills
  • Ability to deal with changing priorities and ambiguous or complex assignments
  • Change Management experience: proficient in ADKAR methodology
  • Strong business acumen

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in the field of Asset Management
  • Experience in the Energy sector or Utility company
  • Proven track record of leading the preparation of detailed business cases
  • Experience with CopplerLeaf asset management system application or equivalent investment decision analytic systems
  • Experience with sprints, scrums, and other evolving project management techniques scaled to business projects

Working Conditions:

  • Travel (by car) is very occasionally required to meet with employees in different Ontario office locations within 200 miles from Toronto to conduct workshops or large project meetings.
